Some Fun Expressions of Love Around the World

To continue the season of Love as we approach Valentine’s, I thought of sharing a fun and upbeat song called Kuzu Kuzu, by a famous singer called Tarkan. It’s a Turkish song, and I have no idea what it lyrics are about, but it just reminds me of my beautiful trip to Bodrum in Turkey back in 2003, where it was summer, and this song was loudly played at the beach area, and the sensational smells coming from Turkish restaurants lined up next to each other, each offering better food than the other. Lots of colors, happiness and fun we experienced that summer!

What draws me to Turkish songs, as well as Indian ones, is the richness of musical background, even in pop songs, like a creamy treat that comforts one’s craving for fun and cheerfulness, which – in my opinion – proves that good music can be transformed into any genre without the need to compromise its good quality.

… I managed to dig out the translation of the lyrics. 🙂

Have a great and bright day!

Kuzu kuzu (Peaceful Lamb)

Look! My arms and wings are broken,

It’s not working, I can’t hold on to life

Hard! To live without you is very hard

Take, take this empty head of mine

And bump it against the wall and stone

But then free me, forgive me, and come to me

I’ve become lean, I’ve dissipated, I couldn’t live with you,

Here I come to you like a peaceful lamb,

I’ve burnt my arrogance, and come to you once again,

If you wish, ditch me, and if you wish, kiss me

But before that, listen to me and look into my eyes, believe me this time,

I’ve understood my fault and I’ve repented for it,

Take, take this empty head of mine

And bump it against the wall and stone

But then free me, forgive me, and come to me

I’ve become lean, I’ve dissipated, I couldn’t live with you,

Here I come to you like a peaceful lamb,

I’ve burnt my arrogance, and come to you once again,

If you wish, ditch me, and if you wish, kiss me

But before that, listen to me and look into my eyes, believe me this time,

I’ve understood my fault and I’ve repented for it,

Put some hot pepper in my mouth and lips

Here I come to you like a peaceful lamb,

I’ve burnt my arrogance, and come to you once again,

If you wish, ditch me, and if you wish, kiss me

But before that, listen to me and look into my eyes, believe me this time,

I’ve understood my fault and I’ve repented for it. (repeated)
